The little things really do matter
In my line of work, patience is a must. No one should ever be a nurse if they can not deal with the challenges that come with people being people...while they're sick. But even more so, no one should work with the mentally handicapped without a measure of patience. I have learned so much from the precious people I work for on a daily basis. Today's lesson... never take the little things for granted. I learned how a simple, seemingly insignificant, plain potato chip can make a world of difference in challenging behavior. It's all about appreciating the little things, because they really do matter when it means something to someone else. May I look for the little things more in my life. May I appreciate them for what they really are... nothing little at all.
